3D printing by Katie Kameen

I primarily use found objects in my work, but sometimes that can be limiting if I don't have a specific shape in the color I want. To remedy this, I’ve been experimenting with 3D printed forms based on found objects. To keep it as sustainable as possible, I'm using Beyond Plastic filament, which is a fully compostable bio-polymer, and ReFlow filament made from recycled food containers. Both filaments print great on a Prusa MK4 and a Creality K1 Max.

This series will be first exhibited at the Silver Fern Fiddlehead gallery in Cookeville, TN this July.

Form Fitter Ring Series by Katie Kameen

My Form Fitter rings are finally complete and on view at the Baltimore Jewelry Center until the end of May, 2024

and a few more rings will be at the 2024 SNAG conference as part of the Missed Connections exhibition

These rings are made from secondhand plastics: the original toys, tube plastics (highlighters and hair curlers), and flat plastics (plates).
